Little Hall has been in the news a lot recently!
Registered Charity number 265212
I hope everyone was able to catch some or all of the programmes on the BBC which featured Lavenham and Little Hall in the last few weeks. The week of the 21st of January had no less than three television programmes featuring Lavenham. The Monday edition of “Inside Out East” was followed on the Wednesday 23rd January by an episode of “Pubs, Ponds and Power, the story of the English Village” with Ben Robinson. Our local guide and volunteer at Little Hall, Dinah James did a wonderful job and featured in both programmes. A lot of the filming was done both inside the house and in the garden. At the end of the week a programme on BBC 4 entitled the “How We Built Britain - The East: A New Dawn” with David Dimbleby, first shown in June 2007, was repeated. This again had a good section about the East of England in medieval times which of course featured Lavenham. All this exposure will hopefully bring more visitors to our beautiful village to see what it is all about.
At Little Hall we would love to be able to offer a longer season and more opening hours, however as we are completely volunteer run it is not possible without more people. We need help to guide our visitors, in our shop, in the garden, to look after our collections and much more.
If you would like to find out more and perhaps join our team of volunteers who keep this ancient building alive, please consult our website www email firstname.lastname@example.org or contact me: Gwyneth Arnott, 01787 247919 or Jane Waller, 01787 247889.
Little Hall house and garden will open on Saturday 30th March and we are busy with maintenance of the building and planning events for the new season. As a Lavenham Resident you can buy a small card for just £2 which entitles you to free entry at any time that the house is open. We look forward to seeing you there. Gwyneth Arnott
